SUMMARY:LisboaUX: Are We Making Ourselves Obsolete?
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a special edition of LisboaUX at Web Summit\, markin
 g our second year 🎂 anniversary.AI is accelerating delivery\, but it’s
also accelerating the rate at which good teams ship things nobody needs. I
f anyone can design and build\, what is our role? We’ll discuss how to st
ep off the feature treadmill\, rethink our processes\, and shift our focus
from just making screens to making the right decisions.About the Talks"Why
good teams ship things nobody needs" — Krasi BozhinkovaWhen product and d
esign teams face constant change and mounting pressure\, they often fall ba
ck on what feels responsible: follow the roadmap\, gather more evidence\, a
nd seek alignment. But as AI accelerates delivery and market conditions shi
ft\, these habits can delay the difficult choices that give products direct
ion.Meanwhile\, the work continues. Teams deliver existing commitments\, ac
commodate stakeholder requests\, and optimize what they can measure. Each d
ecision may be sensible on its own\, but together they pull the product off
course. The result? More features\, slower learning\, fragmented experienc
es\, and products customers no longer choose. In her talk\, Krasi will explo
re why good teams make bad product decisions and what it takes to decide be
tter when conditions change: when to rethink a product's value\, change how
it's delivered\, test before committing\, or protect what already works. B
ecause the hardest product decision isn't always what to build next. Someti
mes it’s know what to stop\, what to change\, or what to leave alone."Wha
t happens when everyone can design?" — Tiago PedrasIn the last year\, any
one with a prompt box can design\, code and ship a screen. Product managers
generate their own prototypes\, engineers skip the handoff and leaders ask
Claude for the answers they used to ask us for. It's time we named the ele
phant in the room. This talk is built around four questions Tiago Pedras ke
eps asking himself:Are we losing ownership of the process? Are we being push
ed away from early input? Are we helping eliminate our own jobs? And how do w
e work when the tools change every week?He doesn't have neat answers to all
of them (one gets an uncomfortable "yes")\, but he'll share what he has se
en work\, from his own experiments and from designers and researchers who b
uilt their own AI tools to stay in the loop. It's also interactive. You'll
vote on the worry that hits closest to home\, and together we'll build a li
st of what still makes designers worth hiring. You'll leave with a few smal
l things to try the next morning.JOIN OUR DINNER WITH THE SPEAKERSIn additi
on to our talks\, you can also sign up for the dinners that will take place
afterwards. We are partnering with multiple restaurants across town and bo
oking tables where you'll get to meet other 5 people after the talks. This i
s a way to know the speakers\, our team and other designers\, and have more
meaningful conversations that go beyond design and research.AGENDA 18:00 -
Doors open: registration. Snacks & Board games.18:30 - Why good teams ship
things nobody needs — Krasi Bozhinkova.19:00 - The floodgates are open.
What now\, designer? — Tiago Pedras.20:30 - Dinner with the Speakers (req
