On November 11, the “UniVerse: Entrepreneurial Academy” will take place, scheduled between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Pavilhão de Portugal in Lisbon. This initiative aims to foster dialogue between Portuguese universities, companies, investors, and startups, while showcasing entrepreneurial talent emerging from each participating institution through a pitch competition.
The “UniVerse – Entrepreneurial Academy” is a collaborative initiative involving the Universities of Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro, Algarve, Évora, Madeira, and NOVA FCT, with support from the National Innovation Agency, Startup Portugal, Startup Madeira, and the EIT Community Hub Portugal.
Targeted at Web Summit attendees, public and private entities from the innovation ecosystem, investors, companies, startups, and entrepreneurs, the “UniVerse – Entrepreneurial Academy” seeks to highlight the strategic role of academia in the country’s economic and technological development.
This initiative also aims to reinforce the contribution of academic-based entrepreneurship to the national innovation and startup ecosystem, promoting discussion on the future of the sector and identifying opportunities and challenges in supporting projects born from research and university talent.
