A safe, inclusive and respectful hackathon for everyone, onsite and online.
Portugal Tech Week 2026 · Updated November 2026 · Terms and Conditions
A primary goal of this hackathon is to be inclusive to all participants, mentors, jury members, partners, volunteers and organisers, from the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. We are committed to a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, neurodiversity, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and religion (or lack thereof).
This Code of Conduct sets out what we expect, and what happens when behaviour falls short. It applies to everyone taking part, online, at the Palace, and in one-to-one messages during teamwork. Help us make this a safe and positive week for everyone.
Positive action is essential to counteract the many forms of inequality and abuse of power that exist in society. Keep discussions on issues, ideas and progress, never on the person.
The following will not be tolerated, onsite or online:
You will be part of an online platform where you can chat with other participants and ask for help. The same rules of this Code of Conduct apply online and offline, in the platform, in calls, chats and shared documents.
Keep the platform useful for everyone: avoid spam and self-promotion, unless the organisers say otherwise. Keep cameras and recordings respectful of others: ask before recording a session or capturing someone else’s screen or face.
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour must comply immediately. The organisers may take any action they consider appropriate, including a warning, removal from a session or from the event, and cancelling a registration or a submission.
If a report is made, the organising team contacts the person involved. Further violations lead to immediate removal without further warnings.
Tell a member of the organising team or a volunteer as soon as you can. At the Palace, any team member will listen and help; online, write to the organisers through the event page on Luma. We keep reports confidential unless you agree otherwise, and we can help you reach local authorities if you wish.
This Code of Conduct applies to participants, mentors, jury members, partners, sponsors, volunteers and guests, in every hackathon space, onsite and online, and in one-to-one communication related to the hackathon.
